The Dallas Cowboys still have some time remaining to make a few notable roster moves before Week 1 of the NFL season arrives. There are no shortage of NFL rumors linking the Cowboys to possible late additions.
The Cowboys have already shown an interest in one former rival who is still a free agent. It remains to be seen if the Cowboys will actually sign the veteran or were simply kicking the tires regarding a possible move.
USA Today’s Terence Watson outlined three potential late signings the Cowboys could make in the coming weeks. Former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Adoree’ Jackson headlines the anlyst’s list of possible moves for Dallas.
Back in May, the Cowboys worked out Jackson who has familiarity with new defensive coordinator Christian Parker from their time together in Philly.

Cowboys Rumors: Dallas Could Make Late Move for Ex-Eagles CB Adoree’ Jackson
Jackson played in 14 games for the Eagles in 2025, including 10 starts. The veteran has appeared in 111 games during his nine NFL season, including 92 starts.
“Jackson worked out for the Cowboys earlier this offseason, showing the team’s interest in the veteran cornerback,” Watson noted in an August 6, story titled, “3 free agents with Cowboys ties to consider adding in training camp.”
“His familiarity with Christian Parker’s defensive scheme would give Dallas a reliable depth piece who already understands the system and could step in if injuries arise during the season. Last year, Jackson had an up-and-down season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he still recorded six pass breakups and an interception,” Watson added.
“He may not be the splash signing some fans are hoping for, but he would be a smart addition. More importantly, Jackson wouldn’t require the Cowboys to take valuable developmental reps away from younger defensive backs still learning Parker’s scheme.”
Dak Prescott Is Taking Notice of New Cowboys DC Christian Parker
The Cowboys could likely land Jackson on a team-friendly deal to add depth to the secondary. Jackson played on a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Eagles in 2025.
As a former first-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Jackson has earned more than $53 million during his career. The Cowboys defense was a massive weakness last season, but the team is hoping that the hiring of Parker can help turn things around.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has already taken notice of Parker’s impact in just a short time.
“The men that we have and the way that we approach and attack their job, I can’t talk about CP (Parker) enough and the pride that he carries with his job,” Prescott explained, per Yardbaker.com.
“He can’t be out there making the plays, but there’s not one ounce of him that doesn’t think he’s making plays. And he is.”
Cowboys News: Dallas Hosted CB Adoree’ Jackson for a May Workout
Despite Jackson’s workout with Dallas, there has been little news regarding a potential move. The Cowboys could be keeping Jackson on the team’s short list in case an unfortunate injury occurs.
“Sources: The Cowboys are hosting veteran CB Adoree’ Jackson on a free agent visit today,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz detailed in a May 5, message on X.
“Jackson was with the Eagles last year, where he started 10 games — recording 55 tackles, 11 PBUs, and 1 INT. His DBs coach there was Christian Parker, who is now the Cowboys’ DC.”
