Bears Trade Pitch Revealed Amid Myles Garrett’s Cryptic Post

The frustration keeps coming back for Cleveland Browns star pass rusher Myles Garrett.

From requesting a trade back on February 3rd, 2025, to breaking the single-season sack record with 23 sacks during the 2025 season, to having just one playoff win in nine seasons with the team, Garrett has been through it all. Yet, recent news out of Cleveland might have tipped him over the edge.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Garrett’s defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who was loved by many on the Browns’ defense, was visibly upset when the Browns informed Schwartz they were hiring Todd Monken as the head coach and not him. He then said his goodbyes in the building and told other coaches he’s “not coming back.”

A few hours later, Garrett posted a meme of a Popeyes worker visibly tired and bent over on a bench, signaling his frustration over the news.

He’s requested a trade once in the past, and now, he might want out of Cleveland once again, prompting the Chicago Bears to make a trade.

When Garrett requested a trade last year, people were immediately wondering what his asking price would be.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, one NFL GM had this to say on a potential trade package for Garrett:

“Probably a 1+. Can’t wait for the ‘It will be 3 1s’ crowd. Not happening. 1 and a 2. 1 and 2 3s. Throw a player in there.”

Keep in mind that was last season. Things can change, especially after Garrett’s historic 25′ season.

When it comes to the Bears, it feels like the Super Bowl window is now open. They have Caleb Williams on a rookie contract heading into his second season with Ben Johnson at the helm, and pieces on both sides of the ball to compete.

Are they a Myles Garrett away from becoming Super Bowl favorites? That’s up for discussion, but general manager Ryan Poles should at the very least keep a tab on the situation developing in Cleveland.

Here’s what the Bears could offer Cleveland for Garrett:

Bears Receive: Myles Garrett

Browns Receive: 2026 First-round pick (No. 25), 2026 Second-round pick (No. 57), 2027 Fifth-round pick

Does it look like Chicago is giving up a lot? Maybe. But the Browns won’t let go of Garrett easily, especially after he delivered one of the best individual seasons in team history.

Bears Were Previously Interested in Garrett

For those who may think that the Bears won’t be interested in trading for Garrett, think again.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears made an inquiry on the availability of Garrett during this year’s NFL trade deadline.

“When they were calling the Cleveland Browns, they did ask about Myles Garrett but Myles Garrett wasn’t available,” Schefter said. “They tried to be a little bit more aggressive, but it takes two teams to get a deal done, and in certain areas, other teams weren’t willing to part with a player like Myles Garrett.”

Fast forward to late January, and Garrett could eventually force his way out of Cleveland.

The problem for the Bears is the cap space. According to OverTheCap.com, Chicago, as of January 29th, have negative $17.6 million in available cap room, which could be a deciding factor in whether the team decides to make a trade for Garrett.

Does Chicago want to make the bold move to acquire Garrett, or will they rather stick with what they have and continue to build through the draft? Only time will tell.
