2 teens shot and critically wounded in Jackson Park

An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were shot and critically wounded early Tuesday in the Jackson Park neighborhood on the South Side.

Around 2:25 a.m., officers found the 16-year-old unresponsive near an apartment in the 2200 block of East 67th Street, Chicago police said. The 18-year-old was found inside the apartment building after police searched the area.

Both were shot multiple times and were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Two guns were recovered at the scene and no arrests were made.


Area 1 detectives are investigating.
