Prince Harry Will Turn Down King Charles’ Easter Invitation to ‘Party’ Instead

It’s that time of year again when families around the world who celebrate the Easter holiday prepare for their get-togethers. Also around the holidays is when Prince Harry just throws out there how he would really like an invite to spend time with the royals in the U.K.

Since the duke and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>his wife, Meghan Markle, stopped working for the Crown and moved to California, they haven’t spent any holidays with Harry’s relatives. But each year, they publicly announce that they want King Charles to extend an invitation to them. Now, what’s being reported this year is that Harry is hopeful to get an invite to bring Meghan and the children to Sandrigham in the summer.

Some have accused Harry of using his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilbet, as “<a href=”https://www.thedailybeast.com/prince-harry-and-meghan-accused-of-using-children-as-bargaining-tool-in-fight-with-king-charles/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>bargaining tools.” While others think this is no more than a ploy to make the king look bad if he doesn’t invite the Sussexes, since many believe Meghan has no intention of ever returning to England.

Myers: A source insists that Prince William never assaulted Harry in 2019

Someone who used to actually work for the family is revealing if he thinks his former boss will extend an invite to the Duke of Sussex and his family to spend Easter with him.

Grant Harrold was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/former-royal-butler-reveals-amazed-king-charles-infamous-pen-incident.html/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch, Harrold’s duties included those of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He also looked after Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate whenever they stayed at Highgrove House. Since leaving the royal household, he’s become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts, a best-selling author, and a royal commentator.

Speaking on behalf of <a href=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Action Network, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “I think if Prince Harry is in the U.K., or planning to be, then King Charles would almost certainly know through their communications, and I would expect an invitation to be extended. I don’t see a situation where the king would not invite him for Easter, especially if all the family are together.”

The former royal butler added, “We know relations are starting to improve, so I believe the king will want to ensure Harry feels included. That said, the more likely scenario is that Harry will plan to spend Easter in the States and party there. He will want to be at home, enjoying the life he has built for himself.

“So overall, I think it’s highly likely the king would have invited him, but whether Harry attends remains to be seen. If Harry doesn’t join the family for the celebrations, I imagine he will exchange messages or a phone call with his father to share his best wishes.”

As for the summer invite, the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-15689903/Row-Prince-Harry-father-King-Sandringham-Britain.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail reported a friend of the king’s told the outlet: “If Harry truly wishes to see his father, he would do well to encourage his supporters to allow such matters to be discussed privately, since low trust and bitter experience in this regard remains one of the principal barriers to progress.”
