<p id=”par-1_53″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/vanderpump-rules-5-lala-kent-revealing-quotes-randall-emmett.html/”>Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s</a> relationship began as an affair. Kent became involved with Emmett while he was still with his <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/lala-kent-unites-randall-emmett-ex-ambyr-childers-daughter-birthday.html/”>former wife, Ambyr Childers</a>. While Childers was, unsurprisingly, not initially a fan of Kent, they now have a podcast together. Kent said that their toxic start somehow blossomed into a close friendship.</p>

<p id=”par-2_30″>In late 2025, Kent and Childers launched a podcast called <em>An Unlikely Affair</em>. Their path to friendship was definitely unlikely, as Kent is the reason Childers’ marriage to Emmett ended.</p>
<p id=”par-3_57″>“How this friendship came to be was like built from something very f***ing toxic,” Kent said on the podcast <em><a href=”https://www.youtube.com/@boyfriendmaterialpodcast” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Boyfriend Material</a></em>. “She was the wife, I was the mistress, she found a sex tape with me and her husband at the time. And that’s how everything was found out and how she decided to file for divorce.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_22″>While they could hardly look at each other at one point, Kent said that Childers is now one of her closest friends.</p>
<p id=”par-5_35″>“What we built off of that … [became] the most beautiful connection that I think I have in my life, besides with my children and my family,” she said. “[Ambyr is] that person for me.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_21″>She finds it shocking that they have been able to make it to this place. She admitted she hurt Childers deeply.</p>
<p id=”par-7_35″>“[What] what we [first] experienced, what I put [her] through a while back, you don’t come back from those things,” she said. “That leaves you very wounded and scarred and changes you as a person.”</p>

Kent and Emmett <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/lala-kent-says-daughter-ocean-giving-dose-medicine.html/”>share a daughter, Ocean</a>, whom they have to “parallel parent.” </p>
<p id=”par-9_58″>“It means that you are unable to co-parent,” she explained. “Co-parenting is kind of like two separate households, but you try to keep consistency in both. Parallel is basically, ‘What you do over there is on you, and what I do over here is on me.’ And there’s no crossover, because you just can’t … It’s high conflict.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_29″>She said that she and Emmett can’t even have a conversation on the phone. They keep their communication to an app, but they still manage to get into disagreements.</p>
<p id=”par-11_64″>“We don’t speak on the phone. It’s very short and sweet through an app. Well, not always sweet,” she said. “I don’t want to say [I] give in, but I so don’t want to communicate with him in any f***ing way, shape or form. [So] when he sends me messages, I’m just like, ‘Yeah, cool, sounds good.’ I’m desperate to not talk to you.”</p>

<p id=”par-12_29″>In 2018, Kent and Emmett got engaged. Three years later, they announced that they were ending their relationship. It was non-f***ing-stop on his phone and I still didn’t even register it,” she said during the <em>Vanderpump Rules</em> season 9 reunion. “Honest to God, it was when Katie [Maloney] called me on October 15th and said, ‘There’s two pictures that have come out with Randall and two girls.’ I just got the biggest pit in my stomach. I just knew Randall is not who I think he is.”</p>
