In the wake of his death, several reports have surfaced suggesting the martial artist had significant health battles that were kept private. In 2020, for example, it was reported that the iconic black belt had died of COVID-19 at the age of 80. That was, obviously, untrue. Just 9 days before his death, Norris shared a video of himself working out to celebrate his 86th birthday. In all his recent uploads, he appeared healthy, happy, and in good spirits. </p>

There was no indication that anything was wrong.
