White House Deputy Chief of Staff Slams MAGA Influencers, “Get Paid BIG MONEY For Clicks”

Dan Scavino

White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of the Presidential Personnel Office Dan Scavino, on Wednesday, raged against social media influencers who are voicing criticism of President Trump after he threatened to destroy Iranian civilization. The criticism has been especially pointed from those who trusted Trump when he campaigned, in part, on a “no new wars” message in 2024.

Scavino wrote: “There are many dedicated people in government who could leave TOMORROW and earn tens—if not hundreds—of thousands of dollars a MONTH as so-called ‘influencers’ on social media, but they chose to serve the AMERICAN PEOPLE instead, all while the so-called ‘influencers’ talk [expletive] all day long and get paid BIG MONEY for clicks and impressions.” He added an emoji of a pair of eyes, “We see you!”

Scavino didn’t name names in the post, but many MAGA supporters are chiming in and expressing major disappointment with Trump’s decision to attack Iran. Popular right-wing influencers, including Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, and Alex Jones, have all turned into active opponents of the President’s military strikes in the Middle East.

[NOTE: While many continue to support Trump on other issues, Owens called the POTUS a “genocidal lunatic” — a characterization that leaves little room for subsequent nuance.]

Former Trump supporters who have served in government, including former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and former Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent, are also part of the MAGA revolt stirred up by the Iran war.

Responding to Trump’s threat to wipe out Iran’s “whole civilization,” Greene suggested the President was mentally unfit and should be removed, writing on X: “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.”

Yet others in the MAGA influencer business agreed with Scavino. Trump supporter and prominent influencer Laura Loomer, who, like many in the burgeoning MAGA cohort of podcasting and alternative media, has been granted press credentials by the Pentagon, replied to Scavino: “Amen. It’s outrageous how much some of these people lie about President Trump.”
