MAGA Cheers For Trump Impeachment at CPAC as Matt Schlapp’s Comment Brutally Backfires, “Wrong Answer”

At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Texas on Friday, chairman Matt Schlapp’s attempt to rile up the MAGA crowd in defense of President Donald Trump brutally backfired, clearly surprising Schlapp on the CPAC stage.

As seen below, suggesting Trump might face political retribution if the Democrats were to win control of Congress, Schlapp asked the audience, “How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?”

Shocking Schapp, the crowd cheered and gave a loud, collective “yeah.” The CPAC chair told the audience, “No, that was the wrong answer.”

If the GOP lose seats during this mid-term election cycle and lose their majorities in the House and Senate, Democrats will almost certainly file articles of impeachment against Trump. MAGA is showing signs of fracturing over Trump’s tariffs, the Iran war, the Epstein files, untamed debt and other issues, but calls to impeach a Republican President are still not something that happens at CPAC. Yet it happened twice.

Schlapp laughed at the first “yes, impeachment” response and then said, “Let’s try it again.” He asked the same question and the crowd again responded as if they were enthusiastic about the suggestion. Schlapp laughed again and said, “Nooooo,” and then asked if someone could serve coffee to the crowd.

Trump critics are responding with criticism of the MAGA “cult” including one who wrote: “They’re not listening to a word he says They look for inflection and cues to cheer It’s just cult mentality.” Another replied with snark: “I don’t think coffee would be the best drink here. Kool-Aid would have been a better choice.”

One Trump supporter responded to the convention: “CPAC had some good speakers but they also had scumbags….and Matt did not read the room at all!” Other speakers included Texas Governor Greg Abbott and MyPillow Guy Mike Lindell, who was allegedly served a subpoena at the conference during an interview, see below.
