After President Trump announced on Saturday the U.S.-Israel military strike on Iran, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Ranking Member of the U.S. Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, reported on Sunday that “only 27% of American adults approve of U.S. campaign in Iran, per Reuters.”
Murphy added: “Of course. No one wanted this war. They wanted food and health care and energy prices to go down. Now all those things will cost more. It’s a war of folly by a doddering old man who likes when things blow up and needs to distract us from the child sex ring he’s connected to.”

Fox News star Mark Levin, a staunch supporter of President Trump and the decision to strike Iran, replied to Murphy: “You’re a devious hack. Love to have you on my radio show. We’ll be in touch.”
[Note: Murphy most recently appeared on Fox News in February, on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream, where he argued that most Americans (60%) are against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations in the U.S. and that the DHS should be held accountable.]
Murphy also assailed the economic cost of this new foreign war, which he’s betting most Americans won’t approve of.
The Senator wrote: “The costs of this Iran war debacle will likely be more than the cost of extending the ACA health insurance subsidies. If you asked Americans, which do you want: another war in the Middle East or lower health care costs at home, is the margin 90 to 10? 95 to 5?”
Democratic Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), a former Army ranger who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, appeared on CNN and criticized Trump for being “very cavalier with other people’s lives…and pounding his chest and acting tough and talking about the costs of war, but he knows nothing about the cost of war.” In response, Levin accused CNN of trying to “create disunity and undermining our military mission. Un American. Unpatriotic. Diabolical.”

Crow continued his criticism in an appearance on Morning Joe, saying: “Friday night, Donald Trump filmed this tough video where he talked about war and the cost of war and how hard it’s gonna be and how we’re gonna lose troops, then he literally went behind the curtain and hosted a million dollar a plate dinner and dance party at Mar-a-Lago. That tells you everything you need to know.”
