The Mike Trout trade rumors continue to persist, and this time, it’s the New York Yankees that are joining in on the fun.
Per SI.com’s Ryan Shea, a recent trade prediction features the Yankees landing the Angels’ $427 million outfielder to complement Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger.
Yankees fans, don’t shoot the messenger here, but Shea proposes a trade package of Jasson Dominguez, Spencer Jones, and RHP Carlos Lagrange as a potential haul that could be strong enough to land Mike Trout.

MLB Mock Trade Features the Yankees Landing Mike Trout
GettyThe Los Angeles Angels are struggling again. Keith Law of The Athletic pitched a potentially unpopular idea involving Mike Trout.
Listen, I’m not exactly sure where the Mike Trout trade rumors are coming from, but they seem to be populating on every site across the internet.
From a purely baseball standpoint, it makes sense because the Los Angeles Angels are 15-23 and likely will not make the MLB playoffs, and all fans want to see is Mike Trout in the playoffs. Also, considering Trout is producing this season and appears to be healthy, in some respect, there’s a world where the Angels could entertain a deal that sends the 3X AL MVP to a playoff contender.
However, there are no real reports (just speculation) that indicate the Angels want to move him.
For the sake of the piece, though, here is why Ryan Shea believes the Yankees could make this trade:
“The Yankees would only consider this trade because theyâre already in an all-in position. At 25â12 with the best record in the American League, the New York Yankees would view themselves as legitimate World Series favorites and look to maximize a clear championship window.”
To be fair, there’s also only a handful of MLB teams that could realistically afford Mike Trout. It’s a little far-fetched given the fact the Yankees already have nearly $600 million tied into their outfield with Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Trent Grisham, but imagine for a second an outfield trio of Cody Bellinger, Aaron Judge, and Mike Trout. It’d basically be an All-Star game in the outfield every night with a combined seven MVPs between the three star players.
Mike Trout is still in the midst of a contract that has a $427 million evaluation.
As for Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones, neither of them are really featured players yet for the Yankees, which makes them potentially expendable.

Will the Mike Trout Trade Rumors Stop?
GettyMike Trout is somebody who could benefit from a change of scenery. A trade certainly is not off the table.
The Mike Trout trade rumors likely won’t come to an end until one of two things happens. First, the Angels management comes out publicly (which they have to an extent) and says that he will not be traded, or B. until the MLB trade deadline passes, but that’s not until August.
Jasson Dominguez actually had to be carted off the field today in the Yankees game against the Rangers, so hopefully he’s okay, and Spencer Jones or Carlos Lagrange have yet to make their MLB debut.
I could partially agree with this trade idea, but the Yankees would have to include A LOT more trade capital. Perhaps a package that consists of Dominguez, Spencer Jones, Carlos Lagrange, Ben Hess, and Will Warren would work? That’s a plethora of youth that can help rebuild the Angels and grant all MLB fans their wishes of seeing 3X MVP Mike Trout in the playoffs.
