Over the years, the pair have been involved in multiple domestic violence incidents, including one in 2023 that led to Paul pleading guilty to aggravated assault. After police began looking into another altercation in February 2026, production stopped on <em>SLOMW. </em></p>

<p id=”par-3_76″>Last week, prosecutors in Utah had announced that they will not be pursuing charges against Paul related to the February incident. But the tumult in Paul’s personal life is far from resolved. She and Mortensen currently have competing restraining orders on each other, and he has temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever. Unsurprisingly, she won’t be participating in filming for the rest of season 5, <a href=”https://people.com/the-secret-lives-of-mormon-wives-resume-season-5-production-without-taylor-frankie-paul-dakota-mortensen-exclusive-11930375″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a> reports. Mortensen will also not take part in filming. </p>
<p id=”par-4_69″>It’s unclear how much of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/slomw-jessi-draper-jordan-ngatikaura-complete-relationship-timeline.html/”><em>The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives</em></a><em> </em>Season 5 filmed before the production pause and if Paul and Mortensen might appear in some capacity in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Paul’s season of <em>The Bachelorette </em>remains in limbo. Originally scheduled to begin airing in late March, ABC pushed back the premiere indefinitely after video surfaced of Paul throwing a chair at Mortensen during the 2023 incident. </p>

<p id=”par-5_32″>Paul hasn’t commented directly on her possible future on <em>SLOMW. </em>But in a recent <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DXYFgfyjvNW/?img_index=9″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> post, she indicated that she saw herself as both flawed and having a bigger purpose in life. </p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>“I’ve been asked ‘what is your big thing you want to achieve?’ I never had the answer other than ‘I’m not sure, I do know this goes beyond reality tv for me, it’s a voice,’” she wrote in the April 21 post. </p>
<p id=”par-7_48″>“Don’t lose focus here ‘is it going to premiere’ that’s not the point,” she added, apparently referring to <em>The Bachelorette</em>. “Point is I knew there was going to be something bigger. And instead of just those audiences, it took another crisis if you will…to elevate it even more.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_18″>Paul went on to say that she wanted “o help people in some way to feel less alone.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_83″>“And yes I’m very FLAWED so it was hard for me to understand how I could possibly achieve that by not having life figured out my own self…,” she wrote. “And that’s the irony in this. You can be flawed, very flawed even and still do GOOD, you can try again, you can pray .. you can hope for something more, better bigger at any point. It only took years and year of rock bottom’s and international scrutiny to let that sink in.”</p>
