She reportedly had a three-minute scene in which she played herself. Ultimately, however, the scene did not make it to the final version of the film. It reportedly did not work structurally with the rest of the sequence, so the team working on the film made the decision to cut it. </p>
<p id=”par-4_15″>This was reportedly not an easy decision, as they appreciated Sweeney’s involvement in the film. </p>

Per <a href=”https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/devil-wears-prada-2-cast-celebrity-cameos-premiere-characters-plot-sydney-sweeney-caleb-hearon-donatella-versace-lady-gaga-lucy-liu” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>L’Officiel</a>, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/bridgerton-season-2-simone-ashley-reveals-why-hated-wearing-corset-series.html/”><em>Bridgerton’s</em> Simone Ashley</a> and comedian Caleb Hearon make cameos as Miranda Priestly’s assistants. </p>
<p id=”par-6_17″>Justin Theroux will make an appearance as Emily’s love interest, and Lucy Liu will play Theroux’s ex-wife. </p>

<p id=”par-8_66″>Miranda Priestly’s character was inspired by longtime <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/many-kids-does-anna-wintour-net-worth.html/”>Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour</a>. While she did not make a cameo in the film, she did visit the set. Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna said that Wintour provided valuable insight on the scene shot at Dior. She said there were too many flowers on set, and they were in the wrong color. Dior, she said, would only have white flowers.</p>

<p id=”par-10_41″>Wintour also filmed a gag take for the film. While she didn’t nail the take, director David Frankel said he didn’t want to ask her to do a second take. As a result, the shot is a little out of focus.</p>
<p id=”par-11_31″>“Unfortunately, Anna jumped her cue, so the shot isn’t always in focus,” he said. “And I didn’t want to do a second take. I can’t ask Anna to do take two.”</p>
