Woman charged with murder in fatal stabbing of her mother in Berkeley

BERKELEY — A 23-year-old woman was charged with murder Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of her 60-year-old mother on Sunday, according to court documents.

Gabriella Riemer is accused of killing Heather Riemer, who was found stabbed numerous times about 2:45 p.m. Sunday inside her apartment in the 1300 block of University Avenue.

Heather Riemer was declared dead at the scene.

Gabriella Riemer was arrested in the area, authorities said. Investigators have not offered a possible motive in the killing.

The suspect was scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday.  She is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail.
