SAN JOSE — A person with a gunshot wound walked into Kaiser Permanente’s San Jose Medical Center on Thursday evening, officials said.

San Jose police said in an email that the victim was an adult man who was shot at least once in an unspecified part of his body. He was reported to be in stable condition late Thursday.
Police said they believed the incident did not occur near the hospital, but somewhere in San Jose. Authorities did not release more information about the shooting or a possible motive.
According to a Kaiser Permanente spokesperson, the San Jose Medical Center was locked down briefly at around 5:45 p.m. and reopened at 7 p.m. This is part of a routine procedure when a patient arrives with a gunshot wound.
