Mountain View 4, Homestead 3

Dylan Wenks walked Mountain View off when he smacked the fifth pitch of his seventh-inning at-bat into right field to drive in Liam Barrett.

Mountain View improved to 4-6, while Homestead dropped to 4-3-2.

Justin Gladfelter got Homestead on the board in the third inning when Jayden Duong hit a single. Barrett answered in the bottom of the inning by driving in one run and stealing home to score another as Mountain View scored three in the frame.

Gladfelter answered in the top of the fourth inning by singling in a pair of teammates. After Barrett struck out eight in 3.2 innings, Brennan Dooley pitched 3.1 perfect innings.

Lincoln 8, Prospect 7

Lincoln-San Jose won a back-and-forth 10-inning thriller when Lorenzo Collazo sent a ground ball deep enough in the infield to score the winning run.

Lincoln improved to 7-0.

Prospect was on the ropes when Panther junior Ehtan Roth drove in one of his team-high three RBIs on a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 6-6. After a scoreless eighth inning, Roth gave the Panthers a one-run lead in the top of the ninth.

Joey Telucci answered back with a line drive into center field that scored teammate Jayden Peters

Peters then induced a flyout, popup and strikeout looking in a scoreless top of the 10th to set the table for Collazo’s heroics.

Granada 5, Dougherty Valley 0

Pitcher Jake Sekany helped the Matador’s perfect start to the season stretch to eight games after he struck out nine Dougherty Valley batters in four innings.

Granada allowed only one hit in the East Bay Athletic League matchup. Mikey Boyd hit two triples for Granada and ace pitcher Parker Warner showed off his skill with the bat by going 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
