Jackson Browne’s son’s cause of death revealed

A cause of death has been revealed for Jackson Browne’s eldest son, Ethan Browne, who died in November at the age of 52.

The “Raising Helen” actor and Spinside Records founder died at his residence on Nov. 25 due to the effects of multiple drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine and lidocaine, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

The case remains open though the manner of Ethan’s death has been ruled accidental.

On Nov. 26, a statement on the elder Browne’s Facebook page announced “with deep sorrow” that Ethan was “found unresponsive in his home and has passed away.”

“We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time,” the statement continued. “No further details are available at this moment.”

Eight-time Grammy nominee Browne welcomed Ethan in 1973 with actress and model Phyllis Major. She died by suicide at age 30 in 1976 after consuming an overdose of barbiturates.

Ethan also had a half-brother in 43-year-old musician and music video director Ryan, from his father’s marriage to model Lynne Sweeney.
