Fire crews control two-alarm fire at vacant commercial building in Concord

CONCORD — A two-alarm fire early Tuesday burned a vacant commercial building in the downtown area, fire officials said.

Foul play ruled out in man’s death at East Bay fire scene

Nobody was injured in the blaze, according to social media postings from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

Crews needed about 2½ hours to knock it down, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to the area of Sunset Avenue and East Street. They remained there at 6 a.m., cleaning up the scene and monitoring hot spots.
