MARTINEZ — A Concord man was sentenced to 32 years in state prison for killing his romantic rival in a 2020 ambush-style shooting, court records show.

Kelandre Dunn, 36, once faced life without the possibility of parole. But in a plea deal finalized Feb. 2, prosecutors agreed to drop a murder charge and special-circumstances enhancement in exchange for Dunn’s no contest plea to voluntary manslaughter.

According to authorities, Dunn ambushed and shot 39-year-old Dmar Tucker, of Vallejo, at 4 a.m. on Oct. 3, 2020. Police said at the time Dunn waited for Tucker to park his car on Happ Arnold Street in Antioch, then opened fire at him. Tucker was struck by a single bullet and killed.
