Concord cops raid hotel after learning guests had turned three rooms into a brothel

CONCORD — Police here raided a local hotel last month after receiving reports from a half-dozen tipsters that three rooms were being used for prostitution, authorities said.

During the operation targeting a hotel on Clayton Road, police seized $14,415 cash, some suspected counterfeit currency, multiple cellphones, a pay/owe ledger, and other items indicative of prostitution, authorities said.

The raid came after six different people came forward reporting suspicious activity at the hotel. One person told police that a woman they believed was a prostitute was seen going from one room to another, leading police to believe the two rooms were connected to the same operation, authorities said.

In addition to the tipsters, police found several online prostitution ads that led them back to the same location, authorities said.
