No. 4 Granada 68, No. 5 St. Ignatius 66
Out of the many clutch plays Granada senior Cortevious Taylor has had this season, the one he made Thursday night might be his best yet.
With the score tied and under three seconds left, Taylor missed a layup attempt on the left side of the basket.
But the 6-foot-5 center followed his shot and tipped in the go-ahead basket at the buzzer to beat St. Ignatius in thrilling fashion.
Granada will play at top-seeded Clovis West on Saturday in the NorCal Division I semifinals. It will be a rematch of last year’s quarterfinal game, which Granada won on its way to capturing the regional title.
Taylor finished with 22 points, NaVaughn Long added 17 and Spencer Langowski chipped in 15.
Granada trailed 34-16 before staging a dramatic comeback.
Marcus Bast and Raymond Whitley each had 18 points for St. Ignatius, which ended its season 21-8.

No. 1 Clovis West 68, No. 9 Serra 64
Serra fell behind by eight points after the first quarter and trailed by nine going to the final period as it was unable to complete a comeback in the quarterfinals of the Division I regional at top-seeded Clovis West.
Mikey Ballout (14 points), Alex Naber (12 points) and Ryan Pettis (11 points) were Serra’s leading scorers.
The Padres finished 20-9.
Clovis West improved to 28-6 as it advances to play host to Granada on Saturday.

Division II
No. 2 Oakland Tech 58, No. 7 Jesuit-Carmichael 56
The host Bulldogs saw six players score in the fourth quarter as Oakland Tech survived Jesuit’s upset bid and advanced to a semifinal matchup with Del Oro.
Coach Karega Hart succinctly told the Bay Area News Group “survive and advance” when asked for a comment after the game.
Junior guard ArDarius Grayson scored a team-high 20 points and made three 3-pointers, and rim-protector Xan Meyer-Plettner scored 12.
Caleb Rollins put in four fourth-quarter points off the bench for Tech (27-5). Kevin Haupt led Jesuit (24-9) with 23 points.

No. 9 Oakland 58, No. 16 Clovis East 51
The clock struck midnight on Clovis East’s Cinderella run Thursday night.
After upsetting No. 1 seed Branham two days earlier, Clovis East couldn’t recreate its magic against defending state champion Oakland on MacArthur Boulevard.
Anthony Lacy put in a team-high 22 points and was unstoppable in the fourth quarter, when he poured in nine points. Sophomore guard Rohm Neal was second in scoring with 11 points.
Oakland (24-8) will travel to Bellarmine, which beat Bishop O’Dowd in overtime a few miles away, on Saturday.
Jeremy Pierro led Clovis East (21-12) with 19 points and hit five 3-pointers.

Girls basketball
Division I
No. 4 Carondelet 62, No. 5 Sacred Heart Cathedral 58
Layla Dixon was a one-player wrecking crew for Carondelet against West Catholic Athletic League power Sacred Heart Cathedral, scoring 28 points and hitting six 3-pointers.
Sophia Ross was also deadly from distance, making three 3-pointers are part of a 15-point night for the Cougars (28-6). Keshia Vitalicio scored all five of her points in the fourth quarter.
Reza Po ended her Sacred Heart Cathedral career with 17 points. Teammate Maddie Eade put in 12 and Kiana Moniz scored 10.
SHC finished the season 23-5.
Carondelet will try to end No. 16 McClatchy’s shocking run in Saturday’s semifinal.

Division II
No. 9 Maria Carrillo 52, No. 1 Branham 49
Despite a 25-point performance from Rebecca Sung, the Bruins fell just short as their season ended with a 3-point loss to Maria Carrillo.
Branham had a chance to tie with under five seconds left, but Maria Carrillo guard Daniella Silacci came up with the game-sealing steal to put the Pumas on top.
Quinn Godfrey added 15 points for Branham. Keira Cangson led Maria Carrillo with 22 points.

Division III
No. 13 Cornerstone Christian 66, No. 5 Mills 39
Perhaps the shocker of the night was No. 13 Cougars beating top seeded Mills by a whopping 27 points.
Cornerstone Christian led by 10 at halftime and didn’t look back.
The Cougars put up 38 points in the second half and held Mills to 21. Laila Alexander and Pamela-Joyce Allen each had 15 points in the win while Kaylie Bertand had 11.
Sofia Kwan had 17 points and Chloe Lee had 11 points for Mills.
Cornerstone Christian will play at No. 1 University-San Francisco on Saturday in the Division III semifinals.

No. 14 Caruthers 44, No. 11 Heritage 40
On a night when points were tough to generate, Heritage saw its season come to an end at home in the Division III regional quarterfinals against 14th-seeded Caruthers.
The visitors led 12-4 after the first quarter. Heritage closed to within 23-19 halftime, but Caruthers went back up by 11 going to the fourth quarter.
Ze’ni Patterson scored 10 points and Abby Livermore added eight to lead Heritage, which finished 20-10.

Division IV
No. 14 Notre Dame-San Jose 47, No. 11 Riverbank 46
The Regents Cinderella run continued with another upset win in overtime, this time over Central Valley foe Riverbank.
Down five in the last two minutes of overtime, Rio Funatsu went on a 5-0 run of her own to help Notre Dame come away with the win. Funatsu’s go-ahead floater with just over a minute left in the game was the deciding factor in the win.
Radhika Garapaty had 19 points and Funatsu had 11 for the Regents. Notre Dame will travel to No. 2 Arcata in the Division IV semifinals.
