SAN MARTIN – A Caltrain hit an occupied car Monday night in San Martin, the commuter rail line said.

Caltrain nearly strikes person in South San Jose

Around 6:30 p.m., southbound train no. 410 hit a car on the tracks near the San Martin station, Caltrain spokesperson Randol White said. The car was occupied by one person.

White said the person was “taken to get medical care.” An update on the person’s condition was not immediately available.

No injuries were reported among the train’s estimated 25 passengers, according to White.

As of 7:35 p.m., crews were still working to move the train to Gilroy. White said the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority was providing travel assistance to passengers.
