Lewis Hamilton didn’t attend fellow Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc’s wedding this weekend, instead opting to get cozy with Kim Kardashian on another continent entire. Whether the seven-time World Champion tossed his invitation into the Mediterranean before he took off to be with Kim Kardashian is unclear, but he certainly looked happier this weekend with her than he has seemed to be in Monaco or on the F1 track in a long time.
With the 2026 FIA Formula 1 Grand Prix season starting off this upcoming weekend with the F1 Australian GP, is there cohesion and teamwork at play in the Ferrari garage – or perhaps is the attention of the seven-time F1 World Champion focused elsewhere. Here’s what you should know.
Hints That All Is Not Well On the F1 Track, Ferrari Paddock
GettyFerrari’s Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc and wife Alexandra Saint Mleux arrive in the paddock.
Unlike other sports where there are dozens of teammates to be had, motorsports like Formula 1 only allow for there to be two drivers per team, meaning that each professional athlete only has one teammate on the grid. For Scuderia Ferrari, the two F1 drivers signed to the team were on opposite sides of the world from each other on the biggest day of Charles Leclerc’s life – his wedding day.
As though living in a fairytale, Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc and his longtime partner, Alexandra Saint Mleux (now Alexandra Leclerc), stepped out into the streets of Leclerc’s home nation of Monaco after exchanging wedding vows in a private ceremony. The newlyweds were photographed driving off in a vintage $12million red Ferrari convertible, but Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate, Sir Lewis Hamilton, was nowhere to be found at the nuptials. Instead, Hamilton was photographed in another time zone entirely when he and his rumored romantic love interest, mogul Kim Kardashian, were photographed when they stopped on the side of the road in Arizona to take in the sunset.
Lewis Hamilton & Charles Leclerc Aren’t At Odds, But They Still Aren’t Happy

Unlike other F1 drivers on the grid that he’s closest to off the track, Lewis Hamilton doesn’t seem to be at odds with his teammate Charles Leclerc. Rather, Hamilton has always been an outspoken critic of the FIA, especially when he felt robbed of what he believed should have been his eighth World Championship title that the FIA bestowed instead upon Max Verstappen. And now Hamilton’s frustrations with racing and distance from the sport seem to rest on his feelings about Ferrari’s 2026 car model.
Having been at Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 team much longer, Leclerc has had more time with the team’s management and plans for future years’ engineering. Conversely, Hamilton won all seven of his World Championships with Mercedes before shocking the world by signing with Ferrari for the 2025 season. Once he began driving for Ferrari, Hamilton was noticeably disappointed with his lack of success in his new team’s car and even admitted at one point that Ferrari ‘deserved better‘ after a poor performance he had on the track, with commentators pointing out how ‘unhappy’ Hamilton has appeared to be since making the jump from Toto Wolff’s team over to Ferrari.

To further the chatter of Hamilton’s uneasiness and lack of cohesion with the Ferrari car and the greater Ferrari team, he wasn’t seen at Charles Leclerc’s wedding over the weekend – instead, he was photographed on the same day all the way over in Arizona, where TMZ and Page Six reported that he and Kardashian stopped to watch the sunset on the side of a winding road. It seems like Hamilton still loves to drive and make technical turns between long stretches of track, but it’s still an unknown how much he’ll appear to enjoy his 2026 F1 season with Ferrari when the Australian Grand Prix kicks off on March 6, 2026.
