The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson have been through rough contract negotiations in the past. At one point in time, there seemed to be a very legitimate chance that the two parties could divorce.
Despite those rumors, Jackson remained with the Ravens. However, there are still rumblings that the two sides could part ways at some point in the future.
According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, one NFL agent has urged Jackson to consider demanding a trade if Baltimore doesn’t give him what he deserves.
“A trade demand would absolutely be on the table if I was advising Lamar,” the agent told La Canfora. “I’m not coming in with it, but I’m coming in with a very firm hand and I’m not putting up with any of their bullshit. And if it’s not done before training camp, we’re done talking.”
Should Jackson end up leaving the Ravens, where could he end up? A few teams have been connected as possible destinations.
3 NFL Teams Named Possible Future Lamar Jackson Suitors
FanSided’s Alicia de Artola has come up with a few different teams who could make sense for Jackson. Those three teams are the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings.
At the end of the day, if Jackson were to become available there would be a much longer list of teams with interest in him. He is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. Jackson would be an upgrade over most starting quarterbacks.
Looking at the list provided by Artola, the Vikings stick out as the most interesting.
Minnesota has both Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy projected to battle for the starting job this season. The Falcons have both Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa currently on the roster. As for the Cardinals, they have Jacoby Brissett and badly need an upgrade.
All three of the teams would view Jackson as an upgrade. But, for now, acquiring Jackson would be a dream scenario that isn’t terribly likely to come true.
Ravens Facing Serious Lamar Jackson Situation
La Canfora weighed in with a strong warning to Baltimore about the Jackson situation.
“Why won’t the Ravens pay Lamar, again, before lesser QBs get paid? What’s the holdup now? The risks are greater than ever,” he said.
Jackson deserves to be paid. This is his second go-around with the Ravens over a new contract. If things get ugly, there is no question that a trade would be on the table.
Last season with Baltimore, Jackson played in 13 games. He completed 63.6 percent of his pass attempts for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Back in 2024, he won the NFL MVP and threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions, while also running for 915 yards and four more scores.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but the Ravens are playing a dangerous game with their franchise quarterback.
