The Indiana Fever have had some great performances throughout the season, but guard Kelsey Mitchell has truly been impressive.
Mitchell has been regarded as the best scorer in the WNBA after a great two-month offensive run. Most fans have been monitoring whether she will be able to break a record for his offensive output.
It turns out that a Saturday afternoon game against the Chicago Sky would be the place for history to be made. Mitchell was the one to have the honor of getting the job done for the Fever.
Kelsey Mitchell Makes WNBA History With Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever took to social media to announce a little bit of history that Mitchell made. She once again scored over 20 points against the Sky. That made it 16 straight games in which she hit that mark, which is a WNBA record.
Mitchell has been on a roll over the last month and a half. Overall for the season, she has been one of the leading scorers in the league.
Entering the game, Mitchell was second in the WNBA in scoring with 24.1 points. She was sitting roughly two points per game behind Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.
Outside of the scoring, Mitchell has also added 2.7 assists, 1.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game. She was selected to the All-Star Game, but did not make the cut for Team USA for next month’s World Cup.

The Fever are going to lean on Mitchell the rest of the season to help them make a run in the playoffs. They are in the middle of a race where they are neck-to-neck with the Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream in the middle of the standings.
Mitchell will play a pivotal role in making sure she can keep her offensive output going. Indiana’s offense flows through Mitchell and Caitlin Clark as the main scorers.
The Fever are a few weeks away from the World Cup break and then will finish out the playoff hunt for seeding. Every game is going to count for them if they want to get a high placing in the postseason.
Watch for Mitchell to be the focal point of the offense to make that happen in the next month.
