Carson Hocevar Inks Massive Deal With Spire Motorsports

Carson Hocevar burst onto the NASCAR Cup Series scene as a rookie in 2024 with Spire Motorsports. Since then, the driver of the #77 has amassed three top-five finishes and 15 top-10 finishes with the organization.

Now, as announced on Thursday, February 5, the Michigan native will be with Spire Motorsports for the long haul. The team announced that Hocevar has signed a long-term deal with the team to race into the next decade.

The deal also states Hocevar will compete in 13 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races for Spire in 2026. The announcement comes one night removed from the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, where Hocevar led 18 laps and posted a 15th-place finish.

Hocevar Comments on Spire Extension: ‘Dream Come True’

In a statement by Spire Motorsports, Hocevar expressed his gratitude for the team. The 23-year-old believes the deal, which runs “into the next decade,” shows the commitment they have to perform.

Hocevar went on to describe Spire team owner Jeff Dickerson as a “father figure” and that everyone involved in his team has become family to him. To continue driving the #77 car into the next decade is something Hocevar was hoping for.

“Everyone in the building, has really become a family to me. Spire is such a different team now compared to how it was my rookie season, and especially when I made my debut in 2023. It’s fun to know I’m going to be around the Cup garage for a long time, and really a dream come true,” Hocevar said.

On the heels of the news breaking, Hocevar took to X to recount a humorous story from contract negotiations. He wrote that he requested if the contract could read “If I had a pulse, I would be driving a Spire race car.”

He then added that “into the next decade” sounded great as well.

“I am here for a long long time in the sport I loved as a kid. Thank you, to everyone that has stuck by me,” Hocevar added.

Spire Owner Gives Heartfelt Statement on Hocevar: ‘Love Him Like a Son’

Jeff Dickerson, co-owner at Spire Motorsports, expressed his gratitude for Hocevar in the wake of the latter’s re-signing.

In the statement from the team, Dickerson said the long-term deal gives the people around the 77 team “foresight.” Now, they know Hocevar will be around for years to come.

Dickerson also detailed how he’s gotten to know the Hocevar and how he’s looking forward to continuing to work with him.

“It has been an absolutely rewarding experience getting to know Carson and watching him grow up, and learn from the good and bad both at and away from the racetrack. I love him like a son and it means a great deal to me, personally, knowing he’ll be here for several years,” Dickerson said.

Hocevar is set for his third full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series. Last season, he posted a career-best finish of second at Nashville Superspeedway. Hocevar posted nine top-10 finishes and ended the season 23rd in the points standings.
