Creed contact, Byron fight ends in another AJ Allmendinger Austin hit – The Checkered Flag

Sheldon Creed hoped to finally be able to reverse his abysmal happiness NASCAR Xfinity Series in Saturday Pit Boss 250 at Tour of Americaand appeared to be on the right track winning a stage for the first time and leading 16 laps.

Unfortunately, the misfortune continued for another race as contact with AJ Allmendinger sent him into a spin fourteen laps from the end. As Creed tried to salvage his position, Allmendinger went up against another Cup Series driver William Byron and scored his eleventh straight win on a road course and second straight at COTA.

“I hate that I’ve been in contact with Sheldon, he got under me, I tried to stay away from him.” explained Allmendinger.

Creed, who eventually recovered and finished ninth, said FOX Sports shortly after, “I saw him and thought I gave him enough space, but I don’t know. I feel like I have to be careful when leading and give him some space so he can’t oversteer a corner. I really do not know it. I could have mugged him.”

With Creed out of contention, Byron became Allmendinger’s biggest opponent but was too far behind to close the gap. Allmendinger’s 11 victories on road courses is the most in Xfinity Series history and adds a baker’s dozen total to his two at cup level. Zane Smiths victory in the truck event earlier in the day meant both NASCAR support divisions repeated their 2022 COTA winners.

“I’ve spent many years not winning anything, so I’ll celebrate each one of them like it’s my last.” Allmendinger continued. “You never know. No matter how much pressure I put on myself, I will always try to live up to it.”

Elsewhere in the field Alex Labbe finished fifteenth in alternative service for the suspended josh williams. Preston Pardus suffered a suspension failure in the first race of the family-run Pardus Racing.

Activists claim the Premier League’s gambling ban “doesn’t go far enough” as advertising is still allowed on shirtsleeves and LED displays
