Universal Studios Hollywood opens 4 pop-up restaurants for Fan Fest Nights

Universal Studios Hollywood chefs will transform graham cookies into Scooby Snacks, sugar-coated churros into Sailor Moon scepters and chocolate hazelnut cheesecake into dragon eggs during Fan Fest Nights.

Four themed pop-up eateries will take over Universal restaurants and dining areas during the second annual Fan Fest Nights after-hours, separate admission event running on select nights from Thursday, April 23 through May 16 at the Hollywood theme park.

Universal will temporarily turn Hollywood and Dine (One Piece) and Cocina Mexicana (Sailor Moon) into Fan Fest-themed restaurants during the after-hours parties.

A pair of pop-up eateries will be created on the Lower Lot (Dungeons & Dragons) and the Universal Backlot (Scooby-Doo x Universal Monsters) during the Fan Fest events.

Three Broomsticks (Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and Toadstool Cafe (Super Nintendo World) will also add a few exclusive Fan Fest food and beverage items during the events.

Hollywood and Dine

Restaurant becomes Sanji’s Galley with a One Piece-inspired menu

  • Luffy’s Meat on the Bone — Sweet-chili ginger pork on a bone skewer served on a bed of kimchi fried rice
  • Franky’s Loco Moco Burger — All-beef burger topped with pork, onion rings, fried egg and miso cola gravy served with star-shaped tater tots.
  • Brook’s Spicy Katsu — Crispy chicken katsu with a spicy sauce served with white rice and cabbage slaw.
  • Jinbe’s Watermelon Salad — Watermelon, soba noodles, cucumber, carrots and seaweed with ponzu dressing.
  • Pirate Bounty — Funnel Cake topped with toffee sauce, white chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream, candy and an edible One Piece wanted poster.
  • Luffy’s Straw Hat — Vanilla bean sponge cake with praline filling under a salted caramel-filled mousse dome.
  • Chopper Cupcake — Vanilla sponge cake made with cotton candy buttercream and topped with cotton candy crisps.

Universal will transform the Laemmle Courtyard across from Hollywood and Dine into the Grand Pirate Den serving One Piece-themed nonalcoholic beverages.

Sailor Moon

Cocina Mexicana

Restaurant takeover with a Japanese-inspired Sailor Moon menu

  • Sailor Moon Bento — Spicy tuna onigiri, potato salad, pickled cucumbers and octopus sausage.
  • Moonlight Love Sparkle — Lemon-lime soda with dragon fruit syrup, mango star gummies, dragon fruit popping pearls and star sprinkles.
  • Tuxedo Mask’s Raspberry Rose Sandwich Cookie — Black chocolate sandwich cookie with rose raspberry almond filling and topped with a white mask cookie.

Universal will serve Sailor Moon-themed desserts at the DreamWorks outdoor vending cart across from Cocina Mexicana.

  • Moon Scepter Churro — Pink sugar-coated churro filled with berries.
  • Mystery Box Cupcake — Vanilla bean cupcakes studded with strawberries, filled with strawberry jam and topped with vanilla bean buttercream. Served in a mystery box with a single cupcake themed to one of five different Sailor Guardians.

Pop-up eatery located on the second-story patio on the Lower Lot

  • Hunter’s Mark — A roast beef sandwich with cheese and arugula.
  • Cockatrice Hot Wings — Spicy deep fried chicken wings.
  • Dragon Egg Cheesecake — Chocolate hazelnut cheesecake designed to look like a dragon’s egg.
  • Gelatinous Cube — Candy bones and weapons encased in a sour blue raspberry gummy.
  • Dungeons & Dragons Cocktails — A selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

Pop-up food stand on the Universal Backlot

  • Universal Monster Dog — A 22-inch hot dog topped with pulled pork, kale cabbage slaw, fried garlic chips, spicy pickles and white BBQ sauce. Inspired by the Wolf Man, Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
  • Super Shaggy Sandwich — A towering club sandwich with meats, cheeses, potato chips and other toppings.
  • Scooby Snacks — Choose between a honey cinnamon graham dog-tag cookie and a chocolate paw print cookie.
