There are dozens of Little Free Libraries in the San Fernando Valley, found in the front yards of residents, in parks, and at the entrances of local businesses. A Little Free Library contains donated books from the community that are free to take and read. And anyone can give a book or two, leaving it in the small wooden house-like “library” on their street, in their neighborhood, or near their place of work.
Little Free Libraries is nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting literacy and community through neighborhood book exchanges. According to Wikipedia, there are more than 150,000 public book exchanges registered with the Little Free Libraries.
Little Free Library boxes are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Anyone who wants a book can look up the online map showing where a Little Free Library is near their home or workplace.
