Street Food Cinema expands 15th anniversary lineup through October

Street Food Cinema is adding new attractions to its 15th anniversary season, including drone shows, celebrity appearances and additional movie screenings at venues across Los Angeles.

The outdoor movie series, which runs Saturdays through Oct. 3, will debut drone show finales for the first time during screenings of “Jurassic Park” on July 18 at LA State Historic Park and the 25th anniversary screening of “Shrek” on Sept. 12 at the Autry Museum of the American West. Organizers say hundreds of illuminated drones will take to the sky following each film. Both events will remain dog-friendly.

Another highlight arrives on Aug. 8, when Street Food Cinema hosts the official 25th anniversary reunion of “Wet Hot American Summer.” The one-night event will reunite writer and director David Wain with cast members Elizabeth Banks, Joe Lo Truglio and Marguerite Moreau. Wain will also perform before the screening with his band, Wet Hot Jam Band.

The season will also feature two newly added films. The psychological horror hit “Obsession” joins the lineup on Aug. 22, while “Michael” will screen on Aug. 29 in celebration of Michael Jackson’s birthday.

Meanwhile, “Back to the Future Part III” has replaced the previously announced “Night at the Museum” on July 25 at the Autry Museum. Timed to coincide with National Day of the Cowboy, the event will feature DeLorean time machines, themed vehicles and interactive photo opportunities inspired by the film.

The remainder of the season includes screenings of “Cars,” “The Princess Bride,” “Practical Magic,” and wraps up Oct. 3 with “Hocus Pocus.”
