Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed a 70-year-old man in the Rancho Park neighborhood of West Los Angeles.
Officers responded at 10:46 p.m. Monday to Westwood and Exposition boulevards regarding a collision with a pedestrian, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was crossing Westwood Boulevard, just north of Exposition and outside a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a speeding, dark blue Mazda hatchback, according to police.
The driver of the Mazda failed to stop, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
