Man killed when crane falls at county facility in Lancaster

A man was killed Wednesday, April 1, when a crane fell at a Los Angeles County Public Works facility in Lancaster.

The accident was reported at 10:35 a.m. at 260 E. Ave. K-8.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said details about the fatal accident remained limited. State Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials were investigating the cause of the apparent mechanical malfunction.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded, but no one was taken to a hospital.


The victim’s name was withheld by coroner’s officials pending notification of relatives.
