A Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk and causing a single-vehicle crash that killed his passenger in Seal Beach this week, authorities said.

Victor Alfonso Campos Carranza, 39, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence causing bodily injury after he was treated at a hospital, Seal Beach Lt. Julia Clasby said.

Carranza was driving shortly after 2 a.m. Monday, March 4, when he lost control of the vehicle, causing a rollover crash, Clasby said. The vehicle ended up in the southbound lanes of Seal Beach Boulevard, south of North Gate Road.

The female passenger, whose age wasn’t yet known, was ejected and was found dead, Clasby said.
