Disneyland will invite longtime fans to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane next year with a fireworks show, parade and nighttime spectacular that entertained visitors over the past two decades.
Host Neil Patrick Harris announced at Horizons: a Carousel of Progress at Honda Center on Saturday, Aug. 15 that the Disneyland resort will bring back a 2005 fireworks show, 2010 water show and 2020 parade as the Anaheim theme parks turn to a throwback entertainment lineup in 2027.
“We are going to be bringing back some of our fan favorite classic entertainment in 2027,” Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino said during a media briefing.
The returning entertainment in 2027 includes:
- “Remember… Dreams Come True” fireworks and projection show at Disneyland
- The original “World of Color” water show at Disney California Adventure
- Magic Happens parade at Disneyland
Estorino hopes the returning entertainment will attract longtime fans as well as new visitors.
“We’re very focused on bringing in new guests,” Estorino said. “There’s going to be a new generation who are going to fall in love with this classic entertainment.”
“Remember… Dreams Come True” had extended runs at Disneyland in 2005-2014 and 2017-2019.
The original “World of Color” nighttime spectacular that debuted in 2010 in DCA’s Paradise Bay featured scenes from more than two dozen Disney and Pixar animated films — including “The Little Mermaid,” “Finding Nemo,” “Wall-E,” “Toy Story,” “Lion King” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
The Magic Happens parade debuted at Disneyland in February 2020 just a few weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of Disney’s Anaheim theme parks for more than a year. The parade last ran in 2024.
