Daily News track and field: Results from Redondo Track and Field Festival

The Redondo Track and Field Festival brought out some of the best talent from CIF Southern Section, CIF Los Angeles City Section and CIF San Diego Section on March 8 and 9 at Redondo High School.

Canyon’s Mikaela Warr broke a meet record on her way to winning the girls 100 meters. Her time of 11.56 seconds is the seventh-fastest in the nation and broke Christina Gray of Carson’s 2023 meet record of 12.06 seconds.

“I just ran a new meet record,” Warr said in a video posted to Canyon’s X account. “I am so grateful and I’m thankful for my coaches and my teammates. I’m very happy.”

Golden Valley’s Kiera Donovan won the girls discus event with a throw of 133 feet, 5 inches. Calabasas won the girls 4×100 relay with the team of Lahela Ray, Paige Porter, Zoe Ray, Malia Rainey that clocked a new meet record of 46.26.

The Coyotes’ Arielle McKenzie took first in the girls 800 with a 2:13.96 time.
