Noteworthy: Catalano won a CIF Southern Section Masters Meet title in the Gold 175 Division when he defeated Corona del Mar’s Zion Hernandez in the finals. The junior, who is No. 8 in California at 175 pounds in the Cal Grappler rankings, will compete in the CIF State Championships at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield. The tournament will take place Thursday through Saturday.
