Cool, mostly cloudy weather continues across Southern California this week, with light rainfall expected throughout the region Saturday.
A drizzle is expected to reach Los Angeles County by Thursday morning, before turning into light rainfall in the evening and continuing through Saturday night, possibly into Sunday morning. A quarter to three quarters of an inch are anticipated in urban areas, including downtown Los Angeles, with 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in the Los Angeles Mountains, National Weather Service Meteorologist Ryan Kittell said.
Wind gusts could range up to 20 to 40 mph in urban areas, with the strongest winds expected Saturday. Mountain regions could see southwest winds at 30 to 50 mph. Temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the mid to low 60s through the week.
Expect wet roads, and an increased chance of accidents or delays. The rain also has the potential to cause more issues to areas vulnerable to mudslides. Yet, compared to previous storms, the impacts will be fairly limited, Kittell said.
Partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid to low 60s will continue through the weekend in Orange County and the Inland Empire, with a quarter to half an inch of rain from Saturday to Sunday morning. Coastline areas could see winds gusts of 20 to 25 mph, National Weather Service meteorologist Brandt Maxwell said.
The San Bernardino County Mountains could see up to an inch of rain, with a chance of snow at 4,000 to 6,000 feet elevation, including an estimated 2 to 4 inches in Big Bear and Wrightwood.
