National Margarita Day won’t go unnoticed on Thursday, Feb. 22, if the Xperience Restaurant Group has anything to do with it.
The Cypress-based company owns several casual Mexican restaurant chains, including El Torito, whose founder Larry Cano has been given credit for popularizing the cocktail. Four of them are offering specials in Southern California this Thursday.
But they’re not the only ones. Other full service restaurant chains with full bars have got their blenders running. Here is a sampling of what’s out there.
Applebee’s: It’s more of a St. Patrick’s Day promotion, but the chain is boasting a Pot O’ Gold Daq-A-Rita in a news release. The glass features a rim coated with gold sugar. The cocktail menu also includes a Passion Fruit Mezcal Rita made with Dos Hombres Mezcal, among the drinks it has posted on Instagram. applebees.com
