3 charged with murder in slaying outside Harbor Gateway sports bar

Three South Bay men face charges of murder and attempted murder for a shooting that left a man dead and another injured in front of a Harbor Gateway sports bar earlier this month, authorities said.

Daniel Murillo, 18, and Christian Castillo, 18, both of Gardena, and Luis Joseph Chavez, 47, of Inglewood all face murder, attempted murder and conspiracy charges in the shooting that killed 31-year-old Joel Villalobos outside the El Diamante Sports Bar near 120th and Figueroa streets on March 3, Los Angeles police said.

A fourth man, Ivan Gonzalez, 21, of Lynwood faces a felony charge of conspiracy, police said.

Murillo was arrested the day after the shooting, which also left a 42-year-old man injured, police said.
