22-year-old man shot, killed in Sun Valley

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are asking for the public’s help in finding a shooter after a 22-year-old man was killed Friday night, authorities said.

LAPD officers responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon in the 8600 block of Morehart Avenue at 9:15 p.m. on March 15.

When the officers arrived, they found a young man with a gunshot wound sitting inside his vehicle, which had crashed into a parked vehicle.

LAFD paramedics responded and transported the man to a hospital, where he died. His name had not been released as of Saturday afternoon.

There was no information about the shooter. It’s unclear if the victim knew the person who shot him, or what led up to the shooting.
