The Major League Baseball season is back! And before you know it, April, May, and June will start to roll around, but the beginning of the MLB season brings baseball fans an anticipated series between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants.
The 2026 season kicks off on Wednesday, Mar. 25, with the Giants and Yankees squaring off, but a majority of the league is set to begin their games on the traditional Opening Day, which is Thursday.
Now it’s time to get in the MLB’s kickoff game with some predictions, odds on the game, and how to watch Opening Night.

The San Francisco Giants will be the beneficiaries of having a home series to start the season, so the first game of the MLB season will be played at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California.
It will be exclusively streamed on NETFLIX, which, as of 2026, has obtained rights to certain MLB games on the schedule.
First pitch is set for 8:00 p.m. EST. Max Fried will get the start for the Yankees, and Logan Webb gets the opening nod for the Giants. Tony Vitello is the new Giants manager.

Yankees vs. Giants Odds
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook, and are subject to change:
Moneyline: Yankees -124 ($124 bet wins $100), Giants +106 ($100 bet wins $106)
Spread: Yankees -1.5: +152, Giants +1.5: -184
Run Total: O 7 (-105), U 7 (-115)
As you can tell, the line for this game is razor tight. Both teams have their aces going, and most players on both sides are rested and ready to go for another long season. Another reason for the betting line being so close is that the Sportsbooks have no real read on either team, and how they might perform.

Yankees vs. Giants Predictions, Best Bets

Best bet: Aaron Judge to hit a home run (+250). I mean, why not? It will be tough with Logan Webb being such a stout pitcher, and it’s hard to hit home runs to left field in Oracle Park due to the wind factor, but if there’s anyone who can do it with ease, it’s Aaron Judge.
Game prediction: I’ll predict that the San Francisco Giants take game one of the opening series. They are at home, which is another reason the betting line is so close, but the Giants added Luis Arraez and Harrison Bader to their lineup this offseason, paired with Matt Chapman and Willy Adames, the Giants will come out of the gates slightly sharper and pick up a victory to start the campaign.
