WWE President Gives Cold Response To Unhappy Fans

WWE President Nick Khan made it clear that he does not care about the fan base’s unhappy reaction to ticket prices. WrestleMania 42 has sold a lot less tickets than in the past few years due to the audience finally reaching a breaking point over the ticket prices. WWE will still make massive profits from the upcoming weekend, but there is a negative stigma following the company right now.

Khan was asked about the ticket prices and gave an extremely short response:

“The marketplace dictates the price.”

WWE wrestlers have talked about wanting the company to lower the ticket prices to give more families have a realistic chance to attend the events. WrestleMania 42 started off with the lowest price of hundreds of dollars for upper-level seats to even get in the venue. WWE has dropped prices in recent weeks, but the overall point remains the same.

Khan was blunt and to the point in answering the question about unhappy fans wanting cheaper tickets. The WWE President claimed that the marketplace is making WWE tickets more valuable and they must keep the prices high to reflect it. However, multiple metrics show WWE’s attendance dropping from all sellouts to lower attendance figures.

WWE Is Booking Storylines About Fan Anger

Both main event matches for WrestleMania 42 featured promos from talents involve discussing fan displeasure. CM Punk delivered one of his “pipe bomb” promos calling out WWE’s TKO ownership to lower the ticket prices in an effort to get more fan cheers.

Cody Rhodes had a similar line and utilized this real fan displeasure in his storyline against Randy Orton and Pat McAfee. Both top main event programs featuring promos about the ticket prices being an issue and referencing that fan displeasure is real has just put a brighter light on the tense situation.

Triple H is running creative and likely the person behind these promos since he’s butting heads with some of TKO’s influence after the McAfee inclusion. Khan is seemingly shutting down Triple H, the wrestlers, and everyone else in the company hoping that WWE changes their business practices to appease the fan base.

Nick Khan’s Business Style Will Never Lower Prices

Khan has a reputation for both the good and bad side of being a tremendous businessman. WWE reached new heights thanks to some of Khan’s business deals and connections helping them out. However, he is known for being cutthroat and using every tool to his advantage.

AEW’s President Tony Khan complained about some of Nick’s practices and how he uses his connections to hurt the competition in the media. Wrestlers will see a limit on their contracts since WWE is all about profits right now and bringing in record revenue.

The fans stand out most of all groups impacted by Khan’s business skills. Khan is never going to lower WWE ticket prices unless a larger percentage of the audience stops buying tickets. Khan disputed the talk of attendance going down by bragging about the gate revenue since fewer people paying more for tickets will still lead to business success.
