WWE Insider Details Why Roman Reigns Was Pulled From Planned June Appearances

Following his triumphant victory over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns assured WWE fans that he would resume a full-time schedule.

During the WrestleMania 42 post-show at Allegiant Stadium, Reigns promised that WWE Superstars and fans would have to deal with him “all summer.”

“All this part-time crap — we’re gonna fix that,” Reigns declared. “Y’all better make some room. Because y’all gonna see my a** all summer.”

However, that promise is in jeopardy of going unfulfilled, as Reigns has reportedly been pulled from WWE’s June slate entirely.

WWE Has Removed Roman Reigns From June TV Schedule

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is the World Heavyweight Champion.

According to Fightful, Reigns is no longer advertised for multiple episodes of WWE’s RAW on Netflix.

The current WWE Heavyweight Champion was removed from the promotion poster and advertising materials for these four episodes of Raw.

  • June 1, 2026 in Turin, Italy
  • June 8, 2026 in Paris, France
  • June 15, 2026 in Baltimore, Maryland
  • June 22, 2026 in London, England

His exclusion from the aforementioned shows shocked WWE fans and sparked online theories regarding his absence.

In Sunday’s “Daily Update” post on F4WOnline, Dave Meltzer provided clarity on the situation, saying that WWE has elected to remove Reigns from the June schedule because the promotion had decided not to use him for the Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia on June 27.

“Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show,” Meltzer wrote.

Night of Champions typically features a slew of championship matches, hence the name. Therefore, it is shocking that WWE would exclude its top champion on RAW from the PLE.

Additionally, this almost directly goes against Reigns’ claim that he’d be featured on WWE programming “all summer.”

Will Roman Reigns Take a Break After Backlash

For the first time since WrestleMania 40, Roman Reigns will defend a World Championship at Backlash. He will take on his cousin Jacob Fatu in the main event match.

Their match at Backlash marks the first singles bout between Reigns and Fatu.

Previously, they faced off at Bad Blood 2024 when the Reigns teamed up with Cody Rhodes to take on Fatu and Solo Sikoa. A month later at Crown Jewel, the OG Bloodline (Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso) reunited to face Fatu, Sikoa, and Tama Tonga.

Should Reigns drop the title to Fatu at Backlash in Tampa, the WWE’s decision to remove him from the Night of Champions buildup makes more sense.

Should he retain, his month-long absence will likely be a tough pill for WWE fans to swallow.

Reigns is one of the most popular figures in the sport. When he announced his full-time return at WrestleMania 42, fans celebrated the decision online.

Now, at least in June, that promise will be put on hold.

WWE Backlash will be held Saturday, May 9, at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
