Charges were pending for a man who burst into a 23-year-old woman’s North Center apartment and bashed her in the head early Friday.
The woman was inside her apartment in the 4200 block of North Lincoln Avenue about 12:05 a.m. when a 36-year-old man she didn’t recognize entered through the front door, according to police.
When the woman tried to fight him off, he hit her in the head, causing cuts, according to police. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
Responding officers placed a 36-year-old suspect into custody nearby.
Charges are pending.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
