Where will CSU Rams land in NCAA Tournament after Mountain West semifinal loss?

It’s been almost a given since late December that the Colorado State men’s basketball team was destined to compete in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

A little more than two months later, that appears to be reality.

Even after the Rams’ 74-61 loss to New Mexico in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament in Las Vegas late Friday night, the nation’s leading bracket prognosticators have them firmly in the field. Every bracket listed on BracketMatrix.com has the Rams in the field. The general consensus: They will fall somewhere between a No. 8 or 9 seed.

Here’s where each of the top bracket experts had CSU entering Saturday:

Jerry Palm, CBS Sports: No. 8 seed vs. Nebraska in Brooklyn

Patrick Stevens, Washington Post: No. 8 seed vs. Florida Atlantic in Indianapolis

Joe Lunardi, ESPN: No. 9 seed vs. Florida Atlantic in Memphis

FoxSports.com: No. 10 seed vs. Gonzaga at TBA
