What’s happening with Fontana’s In-N-Out Burger

An In-N-Out Burger near the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center will reopen in mid-March after several weeks of renovation, according to the Irvine-based burger chain.

The drive-thru at 9855 Sierra Ave. is undergoing “significant exterior improvements,” according to chief operating officer Denny Warnick.

A sign in front of the fenced-off property says that work began on Jan. 15.

Work includes replacement of large areas of the parking lot and sidewalks, as well as landscape renovation.

The restaurant is one of the earliest in the 75-year-old chain. It is No. 22 on In-N-Out’s list of store openings and dates from 1979. In-N-Out is up to 401 locations, the most recent opening being in Madera, near Fresno, on Jan. 5.
