FasTrak scams are among the latest scams targeting Bay Area residents. Victims have been led to believe they have an outstanding balance or extra penalties with FasTrak.
Foreign scammers posing as FasTrak representatives have been sending text messages to victims stating there are unpaid charges on their account. The message provides a link to what appears to be an official website for the victim to pay the “bill.”

The website however is fraudulent, leading victims to enter their personal information and credit card account number. If you receive a message like this, delete it immediately.
FasTrak has informed its customers that these text messages are fake and that they will not contact customers via text message to send bills regarding outstanding fines.
Only use the official FasTrak website at bayareafastrak.org to obtain information regarding your account. If you receive a text message regarding your FasTrak account, you can also contact FasTrak directly at 877-229-8655.
