Bears receiver Luther Burden wowed a group of local football campers by putting quarterback Caleb Williams on the phone with them.
Burden was mingling with campers when they asked him if he could FaceTime Williams so they could say hello. Burden took out his phone, to the screams of the kids. Seconds later, Williams’ face appeared on his phone screen as Burden pointed his camera toward the delighted kids.
Burden and tight end Colston Loveland co-hosted the camp in Rosemont on May 30. The clip, though, went viral on social media this week.
The second-year receiver has drawn raves from players and coaches alike this offseason.
“Just how he’s approached his offseason, it’s been … electric …” coach Ben Johnson said after an OTA practice. ““I’m buying Luther Burden stock right now.”
So is Williams.
“I need Luther to be Luther,” he said. “He believes in himself 100%, I believe in him 100% and Coach does.”
