Warriors Star Steph Curry Gives Worrying Health Update Ahead of Play-In vs Clippers

A loss wasn’t an unpredictable way Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors’s 2025-26 NBA regular season would finish.

The year has been turbulent from wire to wire. From inconsistencies and injuries to downright poor basketball, it was a season to forget, all in all, for the Warriors.

Last night, Golden State fell to the Kawhi Leonard-less Los Angeles Clippers on the road. The Warriors ended the year on a three-game losing streak to fall to an ugly 37-45 record.

That’s not what anyone envisioned in October. But that now feels like ages ago.

Even with all the adversity the Dubs have gone through, they are still muddling along. Their season isn’t over. The ball is still in their hands.

While, yes, they need to win two games in a row to punch their playoff ticket, at least the opportunity to play postseason basketball is very much in the cards.

Now how will they respond?

It’ll start with the best player and how healthy he’ll feel come Wednesday night.

Steph Curry Gives Shaky Health Update After Last Night’s Loss

What a remarkably trying season for Curry.

When the 38-year-old Warriors star is free-flowing and at his best physically, he remains one of the most unstoppable players in the Association.

But he hasn’t been at his best physically. Not even close.

Is that his age showing, or has he just not had the best fortune? Perhaps it has been a little bit of both.

Last night’s tilt marked just one week since Curry returned from a 27-game absence. He was down with runner’s knee and faced numerous setbacks in his recovery. Ever since he has been back, it has been all about staggering the minutes load and avoiding full throttle. While that helps to ease him in, it becomes quite difficult to catch a rhythm and prepare for the high intensity of play-in game, which may as well be the equivalent to a playoff game.

Curry played well in the 29 minutes he was on the court last night. He tallied 24 points on 7-for-14 shooting overall and connected on four of his nine 3-pointers.

After the game, Curry revealed the exact status of his health exiting the regular season and ahead of Wednesday’s single-elimination contest.

“… Try to get as prepared for Wednesday [as much] as possible,” Curry said faintly. “Physically, [I’m] in a decent spot and got hopefully got enough reps to be myself for Wednesday.”

The Curry Concern Hasn’t Left the Warriors Quite Yet

It just may not leave until the start of next season.

Curry’s tone while describing how he feels wasn’t convincing. It came across like he knew inside he still isn’t close to being where he wants to be. Being a four-time champion and a tireless competitor, there are few things more frustrating than fighting an injury when your team needs you the most.

Without Curry playing much better than he has in any of the few games since his return, Golden State’s chances of beating Los Angeles in two nights are razor thin.

He needs to put together a volcanic performance, especially from the 3-point line, for the Warriors to seek an edge. That’s just how it feels at this point.

Golden State has a couple of days to prepare for what could be its last game of the year.
