Vincent Trochcek is emerging as one of the top trade candidates in the National Hockey League. With the trade deadline just three days away, some teams, like the Carolina Hurricanes, are emerging as top suitors. If the Hurricanes can put together a good enough package, the New York Rangers will be forced to make an in-Metro trade.
Recently, Trocheck made his priorities very clear in a statement ahead of the deadline. He notably has a no-trade clause and has already revealed that he will use it to stay on the East Coast.

Vincent Trocheck Wants to Win the Stanley Cup
Isn’t this every NHL players coach when they break into the league, to get to dance around the ice with the Stanley Cup trophy?
Vincent Trocheck had this to say about his potential trade destination:
“I am 32 years old. I would like to win a Stanley Cup.”
This is great news for the Carolina Hurricanes, who currently sit comfortably atop the Metro Division, if they can put together a strong enough trade package. The Canes are certified threats in the Eastern Conference, and Trocheck fits exactly what the team needs.
It’s already been reported that West Coast teams are where he will utilize that no-trade clause in his seven-year, $39.375 million contract, which pays him a cap hit of $5.625 million. Trocheck has 12 goals and 38 points on a bad Rangers team over 45 games played.
His comments may be blunt for Rangers’ fans to hear, but it’s the truth, and New York seems to be going in the wrong direction. The other teams, aside from the Canes, that are thought to be prime destinations are the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings.

What Trade Package Can the Hurricanes Offer?
GettyVincent Trocheck breaks silence on trade rumors.
The Hurricanes have rumors of their own on the player front. Jesperi Kotkaniemi has garnered some buzz as a trade piece for Carolina. Bradly Nadeau is a young prospect who has played in parts of three seasons with the Canes, but has yet to see extended time due to the crowded roster. It will be interesting to see if he’s moved ahead of the deadline.
If the Canes don’t want to offer Nadeau or Kotkaniemi, they have some draft capital they could offer as well.
Trocheck is a strong two-way center that can win face-offs, which the Hurricanes, at times, struggle with when Sebastian Aho is not on the ice.
The 6-foot-2 centerman also adds a strong physical element to his game that could bring the Hurricanes over the top come playoff time.
The trade deadline is Friday, March 6, but where (or where not) Vincent Trocheck goes will be one of the bigger storylines to follow.
