Vikings QB Kyler Murray Opens Up About Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison

The Minnesota Vikings signed QB Kyler Murray earlier this off-season to a veteran minimum deal.

The agreement serves as a true insurance policy for Kevin O’Connell and his job security for 2026 and beyond. They knew they couldn’t just give J.J. McCarthy the keys this season after what happened in 2025. It was a year of injuries and incredibly inconsistent play, and Minnesota can’t bank on that to win games now.

Not only does Murray provide insurance, he also arguably provides a much higher upside for a Minnesota offense needing stability. It is assumed that Kyler Murray would win a QB competition with J.J. McCarthy. The main question about that, is whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

On Wednesday afternoon, Kyler Murray spoke about the Vikings’ offensive weaponry.

Kyler Murray spoke with the media on Wednesday afternoon, and shared some nice words about the Vikings’ offense. Will Ragatz shared the sentiment on X.

I don’t know how you can’t love that (WR) room. You look at the skill positions in general, I know it’s widely regarded as one of the most QB-friendly offenses around the league. I’m happy to be here. I’m looking around, it’s kind of an embarrassment of riches around here.”

The Vikings certainly do have an impressive arsenal of offensive firepower. Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings might be the best WR trio in the NFL. T.J. Hockenson is looking to have a solid year, and the Vikings’ RB duo of Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason is a decent one.

Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports ranked every 2025 division winner by how worried they should be about losing their control. The Chicago Bears came ranked in 4th out of the 8 divisions.

The Bears were 2-4 over the regular season against the NFC North, with the wins coming against Minnesota (Week 11) and Green Bay (Week 16). They beat the Packers in the Wild Card Weekend game, but it came down to the wire and required Chicago to mount an 18-point fourth-quarter comeback.

Again, the Bears could find themselves back atop the division, but this road ahead and how tight these teams played against one another last year suggest it’ll be a slugfest.”

CBS provided odds of the Lions being the biggest threat to take the division from Chicago at +184. Chicago’s odds to repeat came in at +320, with the Packers and Vikings not super far behind. The division will surely be a dogfight in 2026, and any order of the final order of the standings within all currently have merit.
